Created by members of a local association of Real Estate professionals, the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) is a database of available homes in Minnesota. It is set up as a system for sharing information about homes among local real estate brokers, realtors, and agents. Also included is a contractual agreement for sharing commissions that allows any member of the MLS to show any home in the database to prospective buyers.
Homebuyers can also access the MLS database through search tools available on member websites. Information needed by homebuyers is included in these searches, while additional information is only available to members of the local organization. REMAX Advantage Plus includes these search tools on this website.
Some homes, such as those listed by non-member real estate brokers and those “For Sale by Owner” may not appear in the MLS listings. However, most homes currently available do appear in these listing.
